VIETNAM WAR Operation Ranch Hand

Agent Orange. Vietnam War Un-Authorised and presented by comrades on departure at end of tour.
This Patch was issued to US Military Personnel directly involved in Operation Ranch Hand (The defoliation of Viet Cong fortress, food supply areas and passageways by the chemical AGENT ORANGE).
This is later version of this patch, machine made post 1968 - Previous Agent Orange Patch was hand sewn- heavy cotton Hemp which continued to be made post 1968 however this version only cropping up after Tet Offensive and increased Agent Orange Activity.
Agent Orange derived it's name from the band color of the drums used to hold the chemical, hence the name Agent Orange.
The Spraying of Agent Orange commenced in Vietnam in 1962 ceased in 1971, 20,000,000 were sprayed (It was first used by British Troops in Malaya - 1948 - 1960).
